Marketing Engagement Director, GSMA

Martin is a Market Engagement Director for the GSMA’s Ecosystem Accelerator programme, a programme that supports mobile operators and innovators in driving scale in unique, commercially and socially sustainable products and services in emerging markets. The programme has funded 34 start-ups across Africa and Asia Pacific to a tune of £6M with the start-ups raising additional follow on funding of over £47M in commercial investment. Collectively, Martin has over 15 years in the ICT industry. Prior to joining the GSMA, Martin worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprises as the Distribution Business Manager for East, West and Southern Africa, Symantec Corporation as Regional Business Development Manager for East and Francophone Africa, Bharti Airtel Africa as a Group Product Marketing Specialist for SMS, Data and Mobile content across the 17 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and with Orange Kenya (now Telkom Kenya). Martin holds a degree in International Business Administration from United States International University and is currently pursuing and MBA in Global Business Management for the same University.
