Helinna Ayalew is Head of Digital Education at Liquid Telecom, where she oversees the company’s skills and learning initiatives in the Innovation Partnerships team. She leads the design, implementation, and commercialization of varied education programs focused on training Africa’s youth in 21st century technology skills.
Helinna is also a co-founder and former manager of Yale Young African Scholars, a program which helps African students access university education in the US and beyond. She has spent time at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development. Helinna received her M.A. in African Studies from Yale University and B.A. in International Studies from Macalester College.
