Elizabeth Howard is a founding Director and Acting CEO of the African Crowdfunding Association (ACfA), a non-profit organization funded by FSD Africa (UKAID/DfID). In 2014 she co-founded LelapaFund, an equity crowdfunding platform for diaspora investors focused on East Africa, building a community of 2500+ investors and entrepreneurs. LelapaFund’s regulatory challenges led her to create ACfA and work full time on building a pan-African regulatory framework for crowdfunding.
She also leads Women in African Investments, a 260+ peer-to-peer network of investment professionals. Prior to becoming a fintech entrepreneur, she worked in the private sector as a financial economist and at the University of Paris-Dauphine as a doctoral student in applied econometrics.
She holds a Masters in Economics from Sciences Po Paris and a B.Comm PPE (Honours) from the University of Cape Town. She also holds a certificate in Entrepreneurship from Stanford University GSB’s Ignite Programme.
