Head of Dispora Division, Citizens and Diaspora Directorate (CIDO).
She has an MA in International & Development Cooperation and a BSc in Electrical/Communication Engineering.
She handles a variety of portfolios with an emphasis on the Diaspora and Interfaith. Within the Diaspora, her focus is to establish, enable and grow a network of Diaspora partnerships and capable of effecting change through meaningful migration for development projects. She also provides support and advice to AU Member States with regards to the creating, enhancing and implementing of effective Diaspora Policies, in addition to harmonizing their national strategies with the AU’s continental Diaspora strategy. Within Interfaith, her focus is on exploring and utilizing the rich and diverse faiths on the continent as a tool for building resilience and supporting the AU’s vision of integration and development.
Ms. Kheir with over ten years of experience working with various UN Agencies and Peace keeping operations (DPKO) in Electoral Assistance, Conflict Resolution, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR), Research and International Development.
