Dr. Jean-Leah Njoroge is passionate about technology innovation& commercialization with the use of data in Artificial Intelligence to create meaningful solutions and decisions from big data. She draws inspiration in empowering and inspiring people through education and innovation that will lead to ground breaking products and great companies.
Dr. Njoroge, has over 10 years of experience in engineering,and currently works as a Sr. Data Scientist/Machine Learning engineer with Dell Technologies in Austin Texas. Previously, she worked as a Technology Innovation & Commercialization advisor with Texas A&M University, and was awarded several grants including a $50,000 NSF-Innovation grant for an early stage university driven start-up invention.Additionally, she has worked as an engineer with Caterpillar Inc., Huntsman Technology and Praxair Technology.
Dr. Njoroge recently founded Inua Capital, a boutique advisory and venture enterprise to provide innovative solutions for advancing Africa, through investment and mentorship of the digital savvy youth of Africa who are yearning to create a better tomorrow. She also co-founded the African women in Computing Systems, under the Anita Borg institutes to inspire and empower women in technology through community driven initiatives. In addition, she was an executive board member of the Working to Advance African Women (WAAW) in Technology.
Dr. Njoroge, holds a PhD, Computational Materials Science &Engineering, from Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University and B.Sc., in Chemical Engineering from Roy G. Perry College of Engineering from Prairie View A&M University. She is a recipient of various awards, including the National Science Foundation fellowship, awarded the outstanding engineering student twice, by the Society of Professional Engineers (U.S.A).
